1880 – 1930
By the 1880’s, vapor energy had reduced your way to America considerably. Immigrants poured in from about the global globe: through the center East, the Mediterranean, Southern and Eastern Europe, and down from Canada.

One immigrant recalled coming to Ellis Island: “The watercraft anchored at mid-bay after which they tendered us in the ship to Ellis Island…We got from the boat…you got your case in your hand and went straight into the building. Ah, that time will need to have been about five to six thousand individuals. August Jammed, I remember it was. Hot as being a pistol, and I also’m putting on my long johns, and my hefty Irish tweed suit.”
Families usually immigrated together with this period, although teenage boys often came first to locate work.
